BMW Charging provides a constantly growing and nationwide network of public charging stations including high-power charging stations from different providers. Or simply view public charging stations via BMW Maps in your car's navigation system or on the My BMW app^[4]. You can filter search results for alternating current (AC), direct current (DC) and high-power charging (HPC) stations using BMW Maps in your car's navigation system or via the "Maps" tab in your My BMW app^[4]. You'll immediately see details about the charging stations, including the number of charging points, charging power and availability.

We recommend pre-conditioning the vehicle interior to get the most out of your car from the outset. As cooling or heating uses electrical energy, we recommend cooling or heating your car while it's charging to retain its maximum range. Simply enter your preferred departure time including climate control in the My BMW app or vehicle menu. That way, when you set off, you'll automatically enjoy your ideal interior temperature and the state of charge you entered.

Make sure that you only ever charge with genuine cables. We recommend charging your battery up to 80%.

The charging time depends on the electrical connection: electric cars and plug-in hybrids can indeed be charged at a domestic socket outlet, but charging takes longer owing to the lower charging power. Charging with a wallbox at home with up to 22 kW, depending on the car, is faster, safer, and more convenient.

Alternating current (AC) puts less load on the battery, ensuring that it has a longer service life. However, if time is of the essence when you are travelling, you can also charge with direct current (DC) at a fast-charging station and gain plenty of range for your electric car in a very short time.

There are many ways of charging an electric car or a plug-in hybrid: either conveniently at home or flexibly on the go. It's up to you. At home, you can charge safely and conveniently with the BMW Wallbox. Alternatively, you can use the BMW Flexible Charger to charge at domestic or industrial charging sockets, and at various charging points near your home. On the go, you can visit a DC charging stations by Gentari, JomCharge, ChargeEV, and many more.

Simply make use of the constantly growing BMW Charging public charging network or use other charging stations, at your place of work, for example. The My BMW app^[4] or the navigation system in your car will show you public charging stations near you. With your new BMW car, we offer exclusive attractive charging rates.
