BMW MALAYSIA INTRODUCES THE NEW BMW 6 SERIES GRAN TURISMO.

Premium automaker introduces the unique all-rounder in the form of the BMW 630i GT M Sport variant – an expressive statement of modern design with cutting-edge innovations.

Kuala Lumpur, 28th May 2021 – BMW Malaysia today unveiled the locally-assembled New BMW 630i GT M Sport – a dynamic synthesis of performance, long-distance capability, and luxury. The latest iteration of its kind since the car was first introduced in 2017, the unique characteristics of the New BMW 630i GT M Sport puts the new grand tourer in a class of its own.

Hans de Visser, Managing Director of BMW Group Malaysia said, “The hallmark BMW DNA is enduring even in our niche models. With its distinctive vehicle character, the New BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo occupies a class that is unparalleled in the automotive world, and yet is still undeniably BMW. It is a privilege for us to be able to meet the varied requirements of modern and discerning customers, with a BMW that combines long-distance comfort and sporting ability, with luxurious interior and intelligent functionality – for when we can enjoy travelling again.”

Combining luxury coupé characteristics with generous functional space, the New BMW 630i GT M Sport fills a niche and is unique in the market – an exceptional vehicle concept that builds upon the longstanding promise of the BMW brand to always deliver on Sheer Driving Pleasure, no matter the distance of the drive.

Sharper presence, eye-catching sportiness.

The New BMW 630i GT M Sport has been designed with the discerning customer in mind, offering individuality, aesthetics, and exceptional ride comfort for the long road ahead.

Redesigned headlights, a larger kidney grille, new bumper and a contemporary LED headlight design prelude the impressive presence of the New BMW 630i GT M Sport. To ensure maximum visibility throughout any drive, the newly available BMW Laserlight with high-beam assistant adds dynamic laser illumination technology to the LED Matrix headlights system. The laser light follows the course of the road ahead in high-beam mode, and for the first time, adapts illumination even in low-beam mode. In laser high-beam mode, the range increases to a maximum of 650 metres – nearly twice as much as that of conventional high-beam headlights.

The New BMW 630i GT M Sport is fitted with 20-inch M light alloy wheels in Star-spoke style 817 M Bicolour with mixed tyres and run-flat tyres. Blue painted M Sport brake callipers with “M” designation further accentuate the sporty disposition of the new Gran Turismo, while the M high-gloss Shadowline frames its athletic silhouette.

The rear of the New BMW 630i GT M Sport is defined by a new bumper shape and a new diffuser insert that come with the M Sport package, complemented by two-sided trapezoidal exhaust pipes. As befitting its role as a performance-oriented, long-distance tourer, an active rear spoiler for the tailgate comes as standard, increasing downforce at higher speeds. The active rear spoiler automatically deploys at 120 km/h and is retracted once the car slows down to 80 km/h. Meanwhile, manual operation is available via a button on the centre console. For added convenience, the New BMW 630i GT M Sport comes with the Comfort Access System and BMW Display Key.

Formidable in power.

The New BMW 630i GT M Sport is powered by an inline four-cylinder petrol engine capable of a maximum output of 258 hp, a peak torque of 400 Nm, and a top speed of 250km/h. The century sprint can be completed in just 6.5 seconds. Fuel consumption is measured at 7.3 litres per 100 kilometres of travel, with CO2 emission of 166g/km.

Go the distance in superior comfort and luxury.

The generous, luxurious interior and slightly elevated seats (by 5 cm) ensure pleasant journeys and outstanding all-round visibility. Leather Dakota upholstery, individual headliner anthracite and fine-wood ash trunkwood open-pored trim with Pearl Chrome highlight trim finisher are amongst the highlights that amplify the luxury ambience of the interior.

From the driver’s seat, the standout feature is the fully digital instrument display along with the central Control Display – its size increased from 10.25 inches to 12.3 inches. The high-gloss black control buttons in the centre console and instrument panels in Sensatec appear sophisticated and elegant. Sports seats for both driver and front passenger, along with M leather steering wheel and head-up display for the driver, allude to the sporty aspect of the New BMW 630i GT M Sport.

Touring comfort in the New BMW 630i GT M Sport is akin to that in luxury class models, with automatic air conditioning with 4-Zone control ensuring optimal climate control within the car at all times. The rear seat bench provides three comfortable, full-size seats, along with generous legroom. Additional touches to comfort are roller sunblinds – electrical for the rear window and mechanical for rear passengers’ side windows. A two-part panoramic glass roof at just over one metre in length and 90 centimetres wide, provides an extraordinary sense of space and an exceptionally light and airy cabin ambience. Complementing the array of comfort features, a 16-speaker Harman Kardon audio system ensures unparalleled on-the-road entertainment.

In terms of digital assistance, the New BMW 630i GT M Sport is complete with the Driving Assistant and Parking Assistant Plus, as well as Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go function. Also standard for the New BMW 630i GT M Sport is the fully digital BMW Live Cockpit Professional with BMW Operating System 7, which provides access to a world of BMW digital features. These features include navigation, the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant, 4G LTE connectivity and various services such as Remote Software Upgrade and over-the-air map updates for the navigation system.

With the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant and BMW Gesture Control, the New BMW 630i GT M Sport takes interactions between driver and vehicle to the next level. The BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant provides support tailored to the preferences of driver and front passenger, with functions such as navigation, air conditioning, multimedia and telephony; while BMW Gesture Control offers ease of accessibility, allowing for greater convenience and attention on the road.

The New BMW 630i GT M Sport is offered in four exquisite exterior colours – Bernina Grey Amber Effect, Mineral White, Carbon Black, and Sophisto Grey Brilliant Effect. As for the interior, customers have the choice of either Leather ‘Dakota’ Black or Leather ‘Dakota’ Cognac – both of which are complete with exclusive stitching and leather piping in contrast.
