WHAT THE PREPARATION AND APPLE CARPLAY CAN DO.
The preparation connects your iPhone wirelessly to your BMW. With Apple CarPlay, audio streaming and messaging apps are shown on the display. The system also works with iMessage/SMS texts, phone, Apple Music or navigation. You can see everything clearly while driving. And operate things more easily with BMW controls.

HOW THE APPLE CARPLAY PREPARATION WORKS.
The Apple CarPlay Preparation is tailor-made for your iPhone’s operating system and user interface. To use it, you need an iPhone version 5 or higher running at least iOS 10. In addition, your BMW must be from July 2016 or later. To order, you need “BMW Navigation Professional” and “enhanced telephony with extended smartphone connectivity” or “telephony with wireless charging”.
